Crickets At Night

Don't you just love the sound of crickets especially when you are alone at night. I never feel that I am alone at night. Just by listening to the sound of crickets, you can calm your mind and place yourself in a happy environment. One thing I know for sure is that crickets are only animals which will never stop making that chirping sound. It makes me wonder what are they communicating to each other. How do I tell the difference between a male and female cricket making that chirping sound? How many crickets usually come in pair per different location? Even on rainy days, I will still hear the sound of crickets.

Living on the farm, I heard my share of crickets at night. When I was in Taiwan and China, I often heard the sound of cicadas on summer evenings.

I like the sound, too. These are good questions to take to Wikipedia! Maybe you will find the answers and come back to teach us in another post.

I do love listening to the sound of the crickets. I can only hear them in the stillness of the night

When I'm not trying to sleep, yes. When I'm trying to sleep -- especially if the little buggers are indoors, no.

I too like listening to the music of crickets and cicadas at night, when there are no other noises. As AliCanary says, you can get your answers from Wikipedia.
