Christopherrobryder's article on what type of do we listen to, prompted me to write this article about my .

I wrote a lengthy comment about my type of music and what music I grew up listening to.

Here's a list of , , , whose music I grew up listening to:

1. Anggun

2. The Cardigans

3 . Smashing Pumpkins

4. Nirvana

5. Soundgarden

6. Eels

7. Zwan

8. Bjork

9. Fool's Garden

10. Kula Shaker

11. Will Smith (who was known as Fresh Prince of Bel Aire because of his sitcom)

12. Jazzy Jeff

13. Shaggy

14. Backstreet Boys

15. New Kids on the Block

I may have missed a lot more because it would take a while to remember all of them. But you can see from the list how diverse my music preference can be based on how my music exposure during my childhood.

The music I listen to now when I need to concentrate is from Linkin Park. I listen to them when I drive or study. Believe it or not, it keeps me focused. Especially if I don't hear anything else but their music. I use noise-reducing earphones in listening to them when I study so I won't be disturbed.

How about you guys? What is your music preference?

I like classic music and the music from the 60s. I do not like listening music through earphones and I never listen to loud music.

Ah, I am so much older. I learned the music of my childhood, too, and it was the music of my father and my older sister and my older brother and mine as well. And all the music since then. So, I am just as happy listening to Glen Miller as I am the Beatles, the Ramones or Gorillaz. It's great that you listen to a lot of different things, it's what makes life interesting.

It's good to have a diverse genre preference. I also listen to classics. My father is a big fan of Elvis.

I think the Backstreet Boys are the best boyband that ever existed. They were true artists. All the others that followed didn't even leave a mark in the music industry. Or if they did, just simply marred the beauty of music.

I also have a diverse taste in music from classical, pop, rock, instrumental. Not much of rock metal though.

I listen to a huge range of music - everything from Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby to Eminem and Kings of Leon. The list of what I DON'T listen to is much shorter.

That just gave me an idea GemOfAGirl . I think I'm going to make a list of what I don't listen to voluntarily (I have no choice if I'm in a public area and someone plays that kind of music) because it's so much easier. LOL

Wow, that's lots of different kinds of music. I like the Eels a lot, too, and they were never as popular as they should be, in my opinion. My fave artist is Kate Bush.

I know, right? Maybe because they never went mainstream.
