Did Anyone see Mr Kevin Rudd on TV ?

Any one here watch CNN ? Well I think it was CNN because we only caught it on the News tonight!

Our former (thankfully) Prime Minister Mr Kevin Rudd guest 'hosted' a program on CNN , I believe yesterday!

If you did happen to see it please let me know in the comments below what you thought of his efforts.

My personal opinion is that Mr Rudd is NOT our typical Aussie bloke and the jokes he cracked and I do mean "cracked" are sure not your typical Aussie jokes :)

He carries on like a Robot on steroids and looks like he has a poker stuck up his A... hmm I had better stop there as he might read this LOL

FYI Mr Rudd was initially the PM of Australia and was replaced by Julia Gillard (first female PM) who was then replaced (knifed in the back) by Rudd when the 'Faceless men' decided that Gillard could not win an Election.
Ahhh... wonderful Politics!!!

Aussie politics sounds as confusing and frustrating as the US and UK.

I think the only things worse would be if Howard or Abbott hosted a program. Or Keating. Or Latham. Or just about any prominent politician for that matter.

Yes frustrating because the public does not have a direct vote on who will be our Prime Minister that is done in the Party Room :)

I do believe that they would know better and not be fooled by their own egos ? Although I think that Latham tried to run a Radio Program and got dumped!
I was really wanting Peter Costello ( an ex- Treasurer of Australia) to make a comeback! Then we would have had the Abbott and Costello show and the whole world could have laughed along/at with us :)

Trade you Mr. Kevin Rudd for Mr. Donald Trump...?

No I didn't see it. Nor did I realise you were an Aussie! I'm just back in NZ after four glorious days in Melbourne. That was quite a debacle over Julia Gillard wasn't it.

How about Clive Palmer and Bobkat Katter co-hosting? With Pauline Hanson thrown in for good measure? A tragicomedy in the making!

Please Explain ! Oh you do have a wicked sense of the Macabre , Love it :) How about Clive Palmer having a Sumo wrestle with Joe Hockey ?

agvulpes wrote on August 30, 2015, 9:07 AM

Oh no not a fair deal. Oh on the other hand you do get a laugh out of Donald Trump... No wait is he really trying to be serious ?

agvulpes wrote on August 30, 2015, 9:11 AM

Oh yeah born and bred in Melbourne ! You only spent 4 days here and I bet it rained nearly all of the time :)
Did you have any highlights you would like to share with our readers ? I'll pop over and see if you have written a post about your visit :)

Odd you should mention that. One of the PUP candidates (I think possibly in Gillard's electorate) was a promoter for sumo in Melbourne's west.

agvulpes wrote on August 30, 2015, 9:37 AM

I did not know that but it doesn't surprise me as I believe that most of his candidates were chosen for the sporting 'prowess' ? It did seem to work as many of them were elected ! What he did not anticipate was that most were their 'own' people and did not toe the Palmer line ?

My husband and I have a game going. Turn on the TV and count the seconds before the blowhard's name comes up. It's almost frightening the number of times the new anchor opens his/her mouth and out come the words, "Good evening/morning. Today, Republican presidential candidate hopeful DONALD TRUMP..."

I find him annoying as hell. I find the whole election process only slightly less annoying.

I was excited for a minute that you had a female head of state, but it seems I was excited for the right amount of time. :/

agvulpes wrote on August 31, 2015, 1:33 AM

I certainly sympathize with you :( Fortunately for us our Election campaigns don't last as long as yours so our 'pain' , though just as painful does not last as long lol
I did try to watch DT on the Apprentice but also found him annoying so did not see out the series :)

agvulpes wrote on August 31, 2015, 1:39 AM

IMHOThe problem was not that we had a Female head of state it was the politics involved in the way that it was achieved. The trust that should come with that position was not ever there and then the Reverse Stab in the Back came and there was a landslide defeat!
A 'brave experiment' but probably set the election of another female PM back many years :)
