Getting Writing Topics

OK, today's topics

I haven't been on PP much recently, too many child minding duties but I got out for a walk with my husband today and I thought of a whole lot of possible topics while I was out: here are the topics that have arisen from one walk:

Blackhead Path , (1) this walk is about 3 miles long (though you don't have to do it all) and includes a climb up to the lighthouse, which is about 180 feet up the hillside path. And you don't have to do the climb, you can turn and go back, which is all on the flat about 1 miles out and back. I have a number of photographs of this path.

Climbing the Steps . (2) Part of the hillside climb includes steps, which are a test of my breathing ability.

I'm Panting (3) because he has given up smoking. My husband is climbing those steps without panting, while I am panting, though a life-long non-smoker!

Giving Up Smoking . (4) I don't smoke, but he is giving up. How to live with someone giving up smoking. (5) The illnesses you can get from smoking (6) The illnesses that smoking prevents - yes, there is at least one! (7) Is nicotine really the bad guy? There is some recent research which suggests nictoine may have some beneficial effects. (8) What do growers spray their tobacco crops with? Some recent research suggests that it is the fertilisers and other crop sprays that make smoking so harmful. (9) Giving up a bad habit, such as smoking or over eating or poor diet or being a couch potato. (10) Review of the Prochaska book which cover academic research on giving up bad habits. (11) developing good habits (not quite as difficult as giving up bad ones emoticon  )

Houses along the way . (11) Discussion of the proposal to instal a very large wind turbine on top of the hill and people's disagreements with this. (12) NIMBY and what it means

Phone calls . When we got back in from the walk, there was a delivery card from a company that needed a signature on a parcel delivery, with a phone number to call. (13) Calling numbers with automatic responses. (14) Spam phone calls - I have already written on this previously but I could update (15) Phone call which is spam but not a foreign voice - funeral plans! Fitting in with " When I die "? LOL Are they putting cookies on PP and using them for telephone sales calls instead of popups ?

TOO MANY!

I got 15 topics from the walk and just after but this post counts too! And I also managed to add in 3 4 links to previous posts of mine! emoticon

You are on a roll already today, lady! That walk may have taxed your breathing, but plenty of oxygen was still getting to that wonderful brain of yours. : )

Aha! Thinking about your writing and not your husband, eh? I don't blame you... I'd think about my writing and not about your husband as well (hahaha).

For me creating topics is not difficult but I get put off when responses are few.

Sounds like a lot of great ideas and posts to come.

I always figured that breathing smoke was, in and of itself, seriously inadvisable, regardless of the contents. Good for him for giving it up!

I haven't been writing much lately either as I kind of got stuck, glad to see you have returned as well.

That's a lot of topics you thought about today while on your walk (which is great for you). I'm also not a fan of spam phone calls (which is not good for a pay-as-you-go cellphone) and I think when it comes to smoking it's not the tobacco or the nicotine that's the bad guys (well, nicotine is highly addictive, so maybe it can be considered a bad guy), but the sprays the farmers use and the other ingredients that are in cigarettes (tar, ammonia, arsenic, and other horrible things).

These are all great topics and I will be happy to comment on the smoking ones since I was a smoker for many years before quitting.

Which just goes to show that if we get out and about in real life we'll always have something to write about.

Haha, I hope your husband could not see your train of thoughts. Here are both of you walking together and you are only thinking of PP topics. But I don't blame you. whenever i am watching a movie, reading a book or doing household chores, I mentally write posts and cannot wait to site down and share my thoughts with PP members. emoticon

Well, maybe it is just as well I cannot see HIS train of thoughts too! emoticon

What a fun post - I'm wondering now what illness smoking prevents (off to Google!) emoticon

Ulcerative colitis

I'd bet you do good with each of these.

Good for you a long walk and so many ideas spinning through your mind.

A little walk and a lot of thought. I've got to get back to walking. I keep telling myself that....

MegL wrote on September 5, 2015, 2:09 PM

Hmmmm, that makes me think of an infographic or a motivational poster!

Glad to have been of assistance! Especially now that it's not as blasted hot as it was. I need to walk. I used to like walking so much.
