Summer is a Blowsy Mistress

I am wringing out the last bit of summer from the days I have left to me before teaching cranks up again. The weather has been really warm and when it gets like this, all I really want to do is find a shady spot and drink iced tea until it cools down. We have the fans going although we have no AC. In the bay area we usually don't get this warm, but this summer and last summer have been dry and hot.

We are all hoping for a wild and woolly El Nino winter this year. If I could, I would do a rain dance. Get out there and howl at the moon until the rain began its tapping on the concrete of the sidewalk in front of the house.

Summer is a blowsy mistress

overdone in the heat

her red face

a remnant of

too much

of everything

Anyone who can help me figure out how to fix the pagination here, your input would be much appreciated

Red-faced is right -- at least it is an apt description of how I feel in the heat of the season.

Excellent imagery in the poem. I appreciated the personification of summer.
(You may want to fix your title.)

This summer was brutally hot I've noticed the last few summers have been hotter and drier than the year before.

Summer is still in full swing here in eastern NC. We had one morning last week that felt cool-ish, but most warnings have been warm and humid, followed by hot days.

AudreyHowitt - If by pagination you mean getting the lines of poetry to line up all with the same indent it is possible but it means going into the source code (which Persona Paper allows us to do to a certain extent) and, whilst not difficult, it is difficult to describe in a comment! A simple fix of sorts can be done on this post by editing it and simply adding a couple of ''returns'' (the ''Enter'' key) above the line Summer is a blowsy mistress . This will move the line down a little and line it up on the left-hand margin along with the rest of the poem.

Oh me too! We are so hot today that I can't imagine cooking anything tonight

I get red-faced and blowsy in the heat, too. Wait, what does blowsy mean?

We are brutally hot right now and have been for days. I am ready for fall!
