Suddenly I Have Two Jobs!
Clearly the economy is changing fast.
I left my last job in 2013 because I didn’t want to work any more. Also, I didn’t want a high-pressure corporate job any more -- though it paid fabulously. The hours and expectations just weren’t worth it for me. Most people I knew were shocked at my choice to resign. I said I was retiring -- which shocked them even more because I have a good 20 years (at least) of ‘working’ life.
I had planned my finances for a long time to retire early and I thought I had it all worked out. The thing I didn’t take into consideration was inflation! Yes, that hit me worse than it would have -- because now I was only living off my savings.
To cut the long story short, I found myself in a position where I needed to generate monthly income. I didn’t need a lot -- about 20% of what I used to earn in my last job would see me living comfortably -- with some to spare.
So I started looking for a job sometime around the end of 2014. Maybe November or December. For two to three months I not only did not get any job, I didn’t even get a response or acknowledgement from any place.
Now suddenly I have two jobs. I have just refused one today. And I have a third one waiting to be picked! The best part is that they are all telecommute jobs without the corporate stress and people-politics.
I am lovin’ it!

Congratulations on landing the two jobs. I am retired and still miss the regular pay checks coming in.

Congratulations on these jobs and the fact that they are telecommute jobs makes it even better.
