Party, Presents, and Pokemon

Tonight's birthday party for my nephew was a success, and he celebrated his 7th birthday in grand style with several friends and family members.

The big "thing" now is collecting Pokemon trading cards, so he received a lot of those, as well as new drum sticks and a method book, a Seahawks t-shirt and blanket, clothes, the Spiderman backpack I gave him filled with all kinds of goodies, and the "promise" of a "BIG surprise" on the 30th. He put it on his calendar.

I love that I have been to every one of Aiden's birthday celebrations. I did not have that experience with any of my other nephews and nieces, though I have spent more time with his older sister than any of the others, since she was a teenager, when their mom moved here with them. Having family around can be very special.

It only took me 40 minutes to drive home tonight, and I spent the last two hours reading and catching up with all my notifications here tonight.

I can barely keep my eyes open, so I am going to call it "quits" for tonight. I shall catch you again in the morning.

Good night, friends.

I am happy that you got an opportunity to give gifts that your nephew appreciated. Nowadays with just a kid or two parents shower their children with so much that the joy of giving is taken away.

That's one happy seven year old!

Glad that he loved everything and it was a good party. Looking forward to hearing how he likes the big surprise.

Only 9 days for him. ... and me!

He is certainly one who loves life.

I have seen this with many people, not only children. There isn't the gratefulness or graciousness that I was taught as a child.

Great stuff! Hope the game on the 30th lives up to the expectation!

I'm happy Aiden had a real nice birthday. For his birthday next year, may I send him a Green Bay Packers T-shirt?

Me, too! I just got the tickets yesterday. emoticon

*laughs* I'm not sure that his Vikings' Momma would let him wear it! emoticon :winking:

Why not? The Vikings like to sign a lot of the players that the Packers don't want.
