Tomorrow Is My Last Paycheck for Awhile

Thank goodness, I have a check coming in tomorrow from the contracted training position I hold. It was for the class that I taught in the second half of July.

As it stands, I will have no other paycheck from them until the middle of October, as I took this month of August off, and they do not have me on the schedule until the second half of September.

Making this decision to see whether or not I can make it, without working this part-time job, was a big one for me. I needed the break, most definitely, but it does not come without some concerns, of course.

In these next few days, I will go through some clothes, and take them to the consignment shop, to see if I can generate some funds to tide me over. I can do the same with some items on eBay.

It is time for me to become more resourceful.

Are you still creating your earrings for sale? I would think that would create a decent income stream, while not requiring a lot of time invested -- and getting to be creative while doing it.

I need to find them, and do what is needed. I've been dragging my feet on that one.
The earrings themselves take no time or much effort for me. The managing the website (Etsy, eBay, etc.) is a pain for me. I hate that part of it.

I can see where the administration part of it would be a drag. Might the consignment shop sell them for you? That would cut out some of the tediousness of the website stuff.

I wish you well on this. I would like to be able to live on less money. It is tough, though.

It just takes some getting used too. Also maybe get those ear rings out again

Consignment shops are cool and so is Ebay! They are good ways to make money!

I am certain that if anyone can prove to be resourceful it is you. You have a knack for pushing on through to meet your goals.

CoralLevang wrote on August 13, 2015, 3:08 PM

I know. I am working on trying to figure out what I can cut and where.

CoralLevang wrote on August 13, 2015, 3:08 PM

All of those are options, yes.

I think I need to find someone who will do the uploading for me, and I pay a percentage when it sells. I dunno.

Thank you. I appreciate the vote of confidence.

If you are looking for extra funds you could always write for Bubble Ooze. Oh, wait, that doesn't work any more . . .

I hope your experiment in generating this income is successful. It's really hard to make it writing these days.

BarbRad wrote on August 14, 2015, 2:49 AM

That's always the hardest part -- getting the photos done and the listing.

But myLot does.

I'm very sorry to hear that you are going to have to consign your clothes to make ends meet. Are you getting any kind of military retirement pay? It's a shame you can't start collecting social security benefits now.

CoralLevang wrote on August 14, 2015, 6:36 AM

It's really getting me off my duff to do something with things that are better in someone else's home, where they are used.

CoralLevang wrote on August 14, 2015, 6:38 AM

Paulie ...thanks, but no need to be sorry. These are things that I haven't worn in a while and/or are too big for me.

Yes, I get a check that covers my rent plus a little more. I am trying to get SSDI, otherwise, I will have to wait until 62. I do have some money in an IRA that I can begin to draw down, if need be. I'll be fine.

CoralLevang wrote on August 14, 2015, 7:37 AM

Or, I'll buy cheap cat food, and make sandwiches out of it. ROFLMAO

Paulie wrote on August 15, 2015, 12:13 AM

Good luck in getting the SSDI. Have you been waiting for it for a long time?
