Ernest Hemingway's Home and Museum

I have just read that the home of Ernest Hemingway down in Florida key west is the home of many polydactyl cats. He was given a six toed cat and this cat has obviously bred with others and now all the cats around the home are polydactyl with 6 toes!

Apparently there are 40 to 50 of these cats descended rom the original Snow White cat!

Now that is on my list of places to visit when we go to Florida one day in the future.

Hemingway named all his cats after famous people fictional or real.

I really want to see these six toed pussy cats. What do you think? Definitely unusual .They say it looks like they are wearing mittens!

I have been there and the cats are all over the place. Not all have the six toes but all carry the gene.

It's one of the places I would like to go to too. Not because of the cats really, but because of the fact that it is Hemingway.

History, a glimpse into a literary icon's life and polydactyl cats to boot? Sounds like a winning vacation destination to me.

We took a Carnival Cruise in 2007 and was supposed to dock at Key West but the weather was bad and we were not able to dock. If we had been able to, we would have seen that. It is too bad we didn't get to see it.
