The Lonely Road

We all experience times in our lives when our world turns upside down. All that we believe in this world ceases to make sense.

Illness, court battles, loss of a job, divorce, loss of a home to fire or flood, or anything else that leaves us with the question, "What the hell is happening here and how do I make it stop?" gets dropped in our laps, whether we want it or not.

We are forced to deal with it.

Unfortunately, no matter who may be around to want to help, whether offering a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, food and shelter, we feel alone and vulnerable, sometimes incapable of acting or reacting.

We do not want to have to feel or act. But we must.

We are on a lonely road in those moments. This is not because we are alone, but because we trust nothing and no one, least of all, ourselves.

And yet, in order to get through whatever we have been dealt, we have to find the resolve to keep moving forward. We have to learn how to accept the love and kindness offered to us, as we face these situations in life that are so painful.

We must learn how to trust again.

Yes and some of those situations help us grow considerably. We may not like them at the time, indeed they may be situations which we want to escape from as soon as possible but we learn from them and if we take the lesson, we gain something very valuable - self reliance.

Ah, yes, MegL . Even this (what I now call "stupid") goal of mine and watching my responses has been a life lesson. If we can learn from anything about ourselves through what we go through or put ourselves through unduly, then it is not wasted.

Whenever I am faced with calamaties and big challenges in my life, I pray and put my trust in the Lord. It has helped me get through these bad times.

Let me quote you on this: "We are on a lonely road in those moments. This is not because we are alone, but because we trust nothing and no one, least of all, ourselves."
Its really hard when you just cannot trust anyone because of fear of being misinterpreted

Accepting help can sometimes be the hardest task of all.

I have known few of those moments for which I am grateful to God.

My faith in God gets me through those lonely times. I have to trust Him that something good will come of those trying times.
