In Fewer than 48 Hours

The week has gone quickly. The last few days have passed as if I ignored them. And here I am, with just under 48 hours until the day I turn 60 years of age.
I was born at 6:01 p.m., so I suppose that it is not official for another 66 hours. I still am amazed to have lived this long.
Today, I spent the entire day watching nearly two seasons of The Good Wife . It feels that I have binged on it, and do not want to watch more tonight. I still have another season to get through that the library had for me.
I also did a bit of cooking--mostly cooking up some bulk items and portioning out to freeze--and washed a load of dishes in the dishwasher.
This morning, I finished up, but did not get much apple butter from the batch, about three-quarters of a pint. It really requires a lot of reduction. It probably did not help that I ate a spoonful or two each time I would stir it. But I must admit, it is delicious!
I also wrote five articles today, and stayed fairly up-to-date on Persona Paper, so I will not feel like I am down-to-the-wire just yet.
And, I napped. I cannot afford another sleepless night tonight, so I am going to call it a day, now at 1 a.m. I need to get some beauty rest and prepare for a somewhat full weekend. After all, I want to still look good for my last two days of being a young gal of 59.
Sleep well.

I dearly wish I can reach 60 years now! There are so many discounts given to those above 55, specifically for those over 60.

Most of the places where I would encounter the discount happens at 62.

Happy early birthday! Sometimes, we just need to relax and watch shows we enjoy.

Happy birthday in advance ! Over here we make much of sixtieth birthday,we call it a cycle of sixty years ,because we use the heavenly stems and earthly branches to name the year, which are two sets of signs,10 and 12 respectively ,one being taken from each set to name a year, when finishing ,it is exactly 60 years .

jiangliu1949 Thank you . Do you, however, start counting differently, however? I was physically born on August 10th, 1955. We start from zero that day. Don't you consider the day being born as being one, nearly a year in the womb? I have been told by some of my Asian friends from different countries, that this is true. I do not remember who it was, maybe a Vietnamese acquaintance, that they counted even differently--the day born, one was 1, and then the Asian New Year year, everyone has a birthday, so then 2 . That doesn't make much sense to me, because that means one could be 2 when they have been only a few months alive outside the womb. Can you shed some light on this?

You know what, &AbbyG ? I would actually take that deal. It would mean that I have lived longer.

It just might! And, if we trade, we get all the shi7 that goes along with it!

Our Calculation of age is from the time when a baby comes out of its mother 's body .However we also have nominal age which actually counts the 10 months pregnancy as one year ,so to speak ,your nominal age is 61 .

I think I'll just stick with 60.

It's completely legit for you to at the apple butter while you're making it. Heck, you were making it for yourself, so enjoy it whenever you want!
