An Excellent Movie Every Young Lady of Dating Age Should See

K and I had a rare night out at the movies tonight. We went to see PRINCESS CUT , a movie starring my friend Ashley Bratcher in the lead role as Grace Anderson. Ashley was there for the local premier and it we had a moment or two to chat but she was very busy greeting everyone.
The photo is of my autographed copy of the movie poster that Ashley gave me after the movie.
The movie itself is the story of a farm girl from the foothills of North Carolina trying to discover love while staying true to herself and her faith in God. It is billed as a Christian Romance film and it is exactly that. Grace is challenged with whether to abandon her principles to keep the affection and attention of a young man she likes or to give up her relationship with him and wait for the man God wants her to be with.
The story has many touching moments, several humorous moments, a few anxious moments, and addresses the importance of family, friendship, and faith in ones self and in God.

That sounds like a good movie. I do like good Christian movies with morals and decency.

I have a couple of granddaughters who are at a ripe age to be affected by this movie. I guess Grandma will be going to the theater with them.

This looks like a very interesting movie. How did you get to be friends with a movie star?

You will like PRINCESS CUT then. It is about those very traits.

You will have to ask your theater to bring the movie in as good Christian films like this don't often get picked up by theaters, despite the fact that tonight's showing was sold out here in town.

Ashley worked as an art teacher at the school I where I teach for a few years. She even designed the cover for my second book. She always wanted to be an actress but wanted to do Christian films. This movie gave her her big break.

I wish I could say that I knew a movie actress. How many films has Ashley been in?
DWDavisRSL wrote on August 6, 2015, 11:32 PM
She has been in two or three short features and one independent film. This is her first major production. Some of the production costs were crowd funded and I'm proud to say I was able to help with a donation and my name does appear in the credits.

Thanks for that -- I wouldn't have given that a thought. If our cinema won't carry it, perhaps the local theater will.

The Christian film genre has been becoming larger and more profitable but regional mainly in the south. I see faith based films on the cable channels Up and Inspiration.

There is a website called tugg.com that lets you set up a movie campaign in coordination with your local cinema or theater. If you work in cooperation with some of the churches in your area you should easily get enough interest to convince the cinema or theater to hold a screening.

I will have to check and see if those channels are available on our system.

Will it be released on Netflix or local TV movie channels?

I do not know yet if it will be. When I find out I will post about it.

I have a hard time calling a book or movie or dating service, Christian. But I think it's cool you know an actress in a movie.

True love definitely would not require you to give up your principles.

Yes, I think it would be. You will appreciate the message it has for them. It will become available on DVD this fall.

The overarching message of the movie is to let God be part of your search for love and then make him an integral part of the relationship.

That is one of the important messages in the movie, directed especially at young ladies, but for young men to take note of also.
