Late Light Breakfast
I was running late this morning. Well, if I had anywhere I had to be I'd have been running late. Either way, I didn't get to Panera Bread for breakfast until after ten-thirty this morning.
I ordered an Asiago Cheese Bagel with cream cheese. When the very helpful and pleasant young lady scanned my MyPanera card she informed me that I had a free birthday pastry coming to me. I chose a soft M&M Cookie, though technically the candies weren't M&M 's but a generic type of candy coated chocolate. For my beverage I enjoyed an iced coffee latte.
The bagel was cut and toasted per the helpful young ladies suggestion. It was when she asked me what flavor of cream cheese I would like that the highlight of the morning occurred. Panera Bread, it turns out, has New York Cheesecake flavored cream cheese. Being that cheesecake is primarily made of cream cheese this shouldn't have surprised me, but I'd never heard of such before.
When I got my order and opened the cream cheese I was delighted to see bits of graham cracker crust mixed into the spread. And, yes, it was delicious on the bagel, a perfect accent for a late breakfast.

While I'm a huge fan of a nice As I ago cheese, I find bagels to be little more than a do a appointments flavored donut. Maybe that's the 5-year-old in me though.
