Google Making Major Changes to Google Plus

If you don't use Google+ then this urgent news report published by Business Insider has no impact for you. However, if you remember the old YouTube and then the change when the Google owners and operators REQUIRED that you have a Google+ account in order to make comments, etc. on YouTube videos and you didn't particularly appreciate the DEMAND … well then you are probably among the many that are shouting YAY!!!

Pour moi? comme ci comme ça

Here's part of the news:

  • “You'll no longer need a Google+ account to use YouTube or any other Google sites.”

That's not the only change, but it's a biggie! Google is “dismantling it's struggling social network” . DISMANTLING? Is that a warning?? (Should we be bracing for an earthquake or sumthin?)

Happy to hear this. Twitter has always worked so much better for me than G+. I am a G-girl (accounts, G+, blogger since before the days of G+, Android phone and games) but I never much liked the YouTube bit and G+ worked about as well as LinkedIn only without the business side.

I already have a Google+ account, so I don't think this will affect me much. I'm currently working on building collections.

I am going to have to ask my daughter about this. She works at Google.
