Lunch At The Tin Cow

One of the more interesting restaurants we dined at during our whirlwind tour of Pensacola was The Tin Cow . 2LT Son1 insisted we visit this unique eatery in downtown Pensacola both because of the way it serves its burgers and the way it makes its milkshakes.

Ordering burgers is done on a laminated menu using a grease pencil. You fill out your own order. If you just choose one item to add at each step, there are 8,428,212 different combinations. According to the website, there are a total of 10,888,869,450,418,352,000,000,000,000 combinations. That's nearly eleven octillion (eleven quadrillion to my British friends) different possible burgers you could create. Needless to say, you would never have to eat the same burger twice even if you went there for lunch and dinner everyday for the rest of your life.

The Tin Cow's other claim to fame is their spiked milkshakes. We were there for lunch and were heading to the beach afterwards so a milkshake spiked with alcohol didn't seem like a good idea for us. But there were several intriguing combinations on the menu. After lunch we wandered around downtown a bit but the heat soon convinced us it was time to head to the beach.

Spiked milkshake sounds very interesting

I make my own spiked treat: Haagen-Dazs rum raisin iced cream turned into a slurry by adding Bacardi golden rum. Talk about something to knock your socks off! Yum!

If it had been later in the day K might have tried one. I have to avoid alcohol because of my meds. I could have tried a little taste of hers, though. emoticon

That does seem like something that would make you sit up and say WOW!

It depends on what you mix with what.

We were there right around noon on Wednesday. Your friend, if that is who prepped our food, did an excellent job. Also, I love the bacon-infused potato chips they make.

I like the burn of good (or even bad) liquor, though I tend to stay away from it for the most part. It's too easy to let it get the best of you. It can sneak up on you and bite you!

I'm burgered to death. I no longer crave ANY burger. I'd prefer even a liverwurst sandwich these days.

You might be able to get one there. You can get venison, buffalo, beef, turkey, chicken, and 5 other kinds of protein, some of it vegetarian.
