Wednesday Writing Prompt for July 29, 2015

My Introductory post .

The prompt for today is: Getting ahead of yourself.

This is what I wrote:

I have a Word document where I have a template for these writing prompts. The idea is that I can always write up my thoughts on any generic prompt, such as kittens or clouds. Great idea, but I usually end up writing these prompts – such as this one – late on the Tuesday before I post them. I hammer something out, then go to bed and reread to make sure I don’t have any typos or missing words before posting it sometime Wednesday afternoon.

So it’s a quarter to midnight on Tuesday, and I go, “I need a prompt for tomorrow.” I open up the Word doc and copy the template for this week wondering what I’m going to write about, when I realize what prompt I should have for next week. So I copy the template again and start writing in my thoughts for next week. I’m a couple sentences in when I realize I still need to write up a prompt for this week. “You’re getting ahead of yourself,” I say. I then shrug and figure that will work as a prompt.

This is a prompt I might just take on this evening. If not, a day late.
