Spicy potato fry

To me Akhila

This recipe is an easy side dish for variety rices like , lemon rice or curd rice.Even though it is not so healthy because it is spicy and oily I love this side dish emoticon :smile:
Here goes the recipe.

Potato - 4 (Cut into cubes)
Mustard seed - 1 tablespoon
Split Black gram - 1 tablespoon
Oil - 3 tablespoon
Red chilly - 2
Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
Chilly powder - 1 tablespoon
Coriander powder - 1/2 tablespoon
Asafoetida powder - 1 teaspoon
Salt - as per the taste

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seed. When it splutter add split black gram and red chilly.
Once the black gram is brown add potato pieces .Mix well.
Keep the pan covered in low heat for 20 minutes.
Stir every 5 minutes so that the potato will not stick to the bottom of pan.
After 20 minutes add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder and asafoetida powder.
Mix everything well and keep the pan open for another 10-15 minutes in medium flame. This will make the potato crispy. Stir occasionally
Indian style spicy potato fry is ready. Here is the recipe of coconut rice which makes a nice combination with potato fry and one of my favorite emoticon :smile:
