Day 1 of My House Arrest

Okay, just in case you're wondering I'm not actually on house arrest, I've never taken part in any criminal activity and don't plan to.

I am actually having eye surgery soon, and I am about 90% blind so I'll be at home until the surgery (hopefully in three weeks).

Today is the first day.

I can't say it has been a super productive day, but I do hope to get some good use of this time off.

I hope to work more confidently and consistently on my writing (both fiction and nonfiction), so I guess this post is the first step to that!

Another one of my goals was to make myself happier with my appearance, and one way is to lose a little bit of weight. I know I'm not fat, but I'm also not 100% happy with my body right now. So my goal is to go at least 1 mile on the treadmill every day for the next 2 weeks (which I when I have my next day if testing). I just completed my first run, and I went 1 mile in 19 minutes and 55 seconds. I'll keep track of everything I do here, so we can see how I progress! I may add swimming to my work outs as well (nice cool down after a run), but I'll need to wait until my family gets back in town in a couple days for that (swimming alone is always dangerous, but doing it when you're vision is impaired is worse)!

Something else I got done today? I watched a movie called "Animal" (kind of dumb, but the creatures were kind of cool looking). I have a lot of movies on my watch list for this time off. Movies help motivate me to use the treadmill, takes my mind off the boring work out! Haha

Anyways, thanks for reading!

It seems like an ordinary day. Hope that you get better.

Did you know President John F. Kennedy wrote a book while he was in a hospital bed? Glad you set goals for yourself.

Hope the surgery goes great when you get it done. Sounds like you have a plan to keep busy until then.

You have a great positive outlook. I look forward to your posts coming up and wish you all the best with the surgery.

I did not know that! I'm not good at novel length stories, I usually (always) hit a writers block that I can't get out of! Haha. But I have finished several short stories. Thank you! :D

Thank you, I do too! Haha :D

When exactly is your surgery? and I love what cmoneyspinner said, wouldn't it be cool if you end up writing a best seller?

That would be pretty dang cool! Lol. I started a new short story I'd like to post on Smashwords!

My next day for testing August 4th, and if all goes well then I will need to make a third appointment for a pre-op cut. So right now I don't have a date for the final surgery.

Well keep me updated, I should not be too busy for another month, and then school starts.

Wow. Kind of hard to believe that after all the time you've waited, the time is almost here for your op. Looking forward to the updates as and when they happen.
