Baggage Battles - allen0187's T.V. Thoughts

Second post for July 21.

Good morning to all the local PPers out there. To those bubblers living in the other side of the world, hope your evening is turning out fine.

Local time is 8:45 am. Got to watch some TV last night and decided to write down some of my thoughts.

'Baggage Battles' was on TLC. They showed back to back episodes. The show is about people who make a living bidding on unclaimed baggages and packages in airports. Imagine the millions and millions of packages going from one airport to another. Not all of these baggages make it to its destinations. Those unclaimed after a certain number of days are auctioned. You can inspect the baggage but you can't open these. Kinda tough putting a price tag on something that is unknown.

Well these people are able to do so and they are able to make a profit out of it... most of the time. Other times though, they bust out! The characters in the show have different personalities and things take an interesting turn when they try to outbid each other.

Have you watched the show? Is this shoe something that would interest you?

Share your thoughts.

It sounds like it could be fun. Sort of like bidding on the contents of a storage building, but you do get a glimpse of what is inside.

I used to like going to auctions but at least there you could see what you were bidding on though I did get some surprises. I suppose the bidders go on state of the luggage, how expensive it is.

Do the authorities check the bags for information that could be used to facilitate identity theft before they let these people take them? It sounds like a perfect venue for would be ID thieves to get hold of everything they might need.

Jeez, that is the crappiest thing. The airline LOSES YOUR LUGGAGE, and then SELLS IT. That's such rubbish.

Exactly! It is like 'Storage Wars' in an airport! LOL!

Yup, that is what the bidders did. They lifted the baggage and usually looked for branded baggage as they seem to equate an expensive baggage with equally expensive content.
