Introduction for dsjansen
My name is Damon, I’m 37, and I live on a small blue marble orbiting an average yellow dwarf star somewhere in the Milky Way galaxy. I wish I could say that I have a spectacular occupation, but alas, I cannot, for I have no current occupation. I suppose you could say that I’ve been in between jobs for the past four years or so. I started working straight out of high school—I stocked shelves at a local department store. A year and a half later, burnout struck. Then I got a job doing PC administration. Two years on and burnout again. Then I became a computer programmer. That one lasted ten years before burnout reared its ugly head. Blah. That doesn’t mean I’ve been doing nothing with my life lately—far from it. I’ve been a student, a photographer, a writer, a tutor, a transcriber, an editor, and a dog breeder. I’ve learned a little bit about a lot of things through reading and doing, so I suppose I could be called a "Jack of all Trades." Hobbies? Games of all sorts, cooking, sleeping. I used to play kendo (Japanese fencing), but after I lost my job, I couldn’t afford it anymore. But I'll get back to it one of these days. People accuse me of being intelligent, but I don't tell anyone that; I prefer to let people form their own opinions about me. I do, however, have a very low tolerance for intolerance (does that make me a hypocrite?).
