A Dollar and a Quarter to Go

On my road to my first payout here on Persona Paper, I have only $1.25 left.

In June, I set my goal to make this first payout by my August 10th birthday, which is a big milestone birthday for me. When June ended, and July began, my coins totaled 10,588. Today, I am over 12,500 coins. In a little over 18 days, I have earned over 1900 coins, averaging approximately 106 coins daily.

It did not happen by magic. Instead, it requires consistency in reading and commenting on others' work. It also helps if we write. This posting will be my 54th post this month, since my end of June challenge update. At this writing, I have averaged 2.95 articles daily.

As it stands now, I will reach my payout by July 27th, if I keep up my current activity. I will hold out to submit until my birthday, as I have the second stretch goal (listed in the update link above). For me to reach that goal, I will have to up my current average coins by nearly 10 percent.

Because so few readers delve into anything past the first page of a profile, this means that one simple needs to keep writing. The archives seem to be lost forever to new read and comments

I agree with you about the archive situation which means a post dies after the first day for all intents and purposes. We have to go to a person's profile and slog page by page. PP does not have a page by page browse under the categories. For instance, if sports is your thing, you can only see the latest posts and not page back to older posts. On the profile page, why not organize a person's posts by subject category to make it easier to read areas of interest.

JohnRoberts It is a suggestion that I put out to elitecodex through comments and also an email, but haven't heard anything back yet.

I wonder if sharing posts via socail networks would help get the old posts out there more. Just a though.

CoralLevang wrote on July 19, 2015, 12:45 PM

If it were easier to get to the original posts (35 pages back), trying to resurrect some would be easier.

Kudos to you for not only achieving the goal you set for yourself, but in being able to do so even a bit ahead of schedule.

I agree...the archives here and the ability to see older posts need work. I find the Search capability to be modest at best. Increasing the ease of navigation of the site can only help both writers and readers here.

There are many who feel the same way. I've made suggestions several times, but haven't heard back.

lexiconlover wrote on July 19, 2015, 12:47 PM

I hadn't thought that far into it- that's true. Hmm. I get a couple comments still on my earlier posts. But I haven't been here as long. So mine aren't as far back hidden. :P_

Perhaps, it is something that elitecodex would consider, if more of us were requesting it?

Feisty56 wrote on July 19, 2015, 1:17 PM

I don't mind sending a suggestion to elitecodex . Folks can't fix issues they aren't aware of...and I've often heard "the squeaky wheel gets the grease."

Go, Chickie, Go! You're gonna do it any day now.

I have been trying to do more delving into older posts of those I follow and have read some interesting articles as a result. Being I also get a coin each time I comment on one of those older works it's to my benefit as well.

I'm trying to catch up with you, Alicanary ! But you run faster. I think it's because you are about half my age. LOL

CoralLevang wrote on July 19, 2015, 2:42 PM

DWDavisRSL I'm trying to do the same. I just wish that we could get the change to the maneuvering through the profile pages.

I'm one of those PPers who look for older posts written by my connections. I agree that a search function to make this task easier will be most helpful.

Good luck on getting that $1.25! I'm at $18 myself and I'm looking to cash out by August as well.

Wow! That is really great. Happy for your first pay out. Hope I get mine soon as well.

CoralLevang wrote on July 20, 2015, 2:01 AM

allen0187 Whoo hoo! Is this your first payout?

CoralLevang wrote on July 20, 2015, 2:02 AM

Thank you, cheri . It sounds like you are close, as well.

I wish it was easier to read past posts from people also. Hopefully in time

Bubblews really did lose the archives. I have printed out the collected works of bloggers and web writers if I want to read all of it, since it's so much easier to read a printout than a screen, but this is slow going; I was only about four years behind Ozarque's blog when she stopped posting and I've not printed and enjoyed the whole thing yet.

CoralLevang wrote on July 20, 2015, 1:17 PM

I hope so, wolfgirl569 . Maybe elitecodex has it in the works?

CoralLevang wrote on July 20, 2015, 1:17 PM

PriscillaKing I agree with the printouts. It's why I prefer a book to a Kindle, and I won't get the latter.
