A very moving tale ...

This is a very moving tale ... yes, literally, a moving one. That's what I've been doing for several months ... moving. And that's also why I haven't been writing.

Well, that and the fact that the pay for online writing almost zip. Zilch. Nada. Oh wait, one more ... bupkus!

But, it's really the moving that has hung up the writing.

It's hard to write when a writer has spent all day packing or unpacking boxes. It's hard to write while pulling a trailer piled high with belongings, down the highway in the middle of a snowstorm. Oh yes, there are plenty of things to write about at that moment. The fear of sliding off the road into a ditch. The anxiety of the trailer suddenly becoming unhitched and flying down the road backwards!

A writer can easily imagine any number of dire consequences while zipping down the road in the middle of a snow storm. But, with boxes packed in all around her and the cat in the carrier staring menacingly at the back of her head, a writer might find it easy to imagine things, but a bit harder to put them down on paper.

Well, all right. This writer finds it hard to put pen to paper when the cat is staring at her with slanted eyes, and whispering a curse.

However, breathe a sigh of relief. The move is over. Some of the boxes are even unpacked in the new house. And the writing is starting up again.

Well, at least for today.

(How about you ... was your last move a nightmare? Or smooth as silk?)

My last move wasn't horrible. It wasn't the smoothest- but it was for sure better than some others. But then again, I only moved about four miles.

I'll let you know in another week. I'm going to hire packers and movers. Neither Dave nor I are up to the packing part.

My last move involved a taxi and all my worldly goods in eight black plastic bin liners. I got divorced and moved out!

I HATE housemoves! With a vengeance. I want to pack up all this kakaroonie that I am surrounded with and put it into storage, then see what I need to have, extract that and sell the rest of the darn stuff.

Nobody wants to know how bad my last move was. Let's just say it's *the* last move I'm willing to make in this lifetime.

My last move was over twenty years ago and it went smoothly for me. Not so much for my wife. I was already down here in NC working and it was left to her to pack up the old house and get everything ready to move.

I always seem to choose the hottest day of the entire year to move, so I would say my moves are always...sweaty. So glad to see you back! PS - totally LOL at "bupkus"--I love that word.

I've moved so many times in !y life O should be able to do it on my sleep. Haven't moved in well over thirteen years, so don't know how I'd be now.
