Happy Birthday To My Big Sister

Today is my big sister's 76th birthday. I know she will chuckle at the card I sent, but it won´t be looked at today as she and her husband have gone on a little holiday and won´t be home to check their post. I sent an eCard too, which I hope she will see today, and also early this morning a text message. Later on I will probably give her a ring.

I couldn´t have a better big sister if I had gone out and chosen one for myself, and it´s true to say I marvel at how much she and her lovely husband still achieve. Even at this advancing age they still do their own decorating and garden, their home and garden is a credit to them. They regularly have friends and family over for lunch, everything home made. And still go off quite a few times each year to holiday in rented cottages in the countryside, or occasionally abroad.

Today I wish my big sis all the very best wishes for a lovely day, and just hope the tinnitus which plagues her isn´t doing its utmost to spoil her special day.

Happy birthday our Wyn xx emoticon

Here´s a picture of their beautiful garden, it was taken a month or so ago and is all their own work.

This garden is absolutely gorgeous. You are really a great photographer. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures like this one.

I like the caption on the card. That is the type of thing that I would tend to put in a card.

Not many are so bonded the way you are. Cards are sent, gifts are exchanged and whatever but true love is rare to come by. Wish your sister for me.

THIS is so beautiful! I appreciate gardens, such as this. I do not have the green thumb, however.

P.S. Happy Birthday, Wyn!!

Hollyhocks100 What a fabulous garden! They must get a lot of pleasure out of it.

Can´t take credit for this photo, my brother in law took it. He still tends the garden himself and he´s almost 80, it is really a beautiful haven I have to admit.

It made me laugh out loud when I read it, and I know my sister will too emoticon

When I lost my husband, Our Wyn was the one who understood the pain I felt more than any other of my siblings, and she was there for me when I needed picking up, and still is.

We both have similar tastes and that includes in our gardens and homes. She and her husband are such gentle folk, but he keeps telling her off because she keeps making the lawn smaller as she can´t resist many of the plants she see´s when out and about, and of course, as he is the one who tends the garden, it gives him more to weed when he would rather just mow,but it's all done in a loving way and I´m sure he wouldn´t change her for the world.

A few years ago they and others in the neighborhood opened their gardens to the public, to raise money for charities. It is a lovely garden and they enjoy it year round, outside in the summer and from the conservatory in the winter.

Your sister and her husband must be wonderful people to spend time with. And the garden is lovely.

They are emoticon  The last time I was over in the UK and visited it was October and the garden still looked a picture with many things flowering.
