What Does That Mean at the End of Your Articles?

I was recently asked this question. It was after someone noticed a "tag" end, of sorts after my story. If you are unfamiliar, here is one of the most recent:
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
1315 PDT 11,989 17.98
3 hours-- +68/$.10; 99 to 103 avg
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
In fact, I only started using any version of this in my last several articles.
Tracking Goals
So that I do not have to bore anyone with countless updates, I wanted a way for me to keep up with where I am on a particular challenge, my latest being my personal challenge to make payout by a milestone birthday that is coming up shortly. I even set a stretch goal of reaching 15,000 coins, just to keep me focused. ( Click on the link to see this challenge. )
It is important for ME to keep up, knowing exactly where I am at any given time. It goes back to my days in sales, reaching for greater heights than what any challenge asked, which gave me some assurance. For example, I know that if I can maintain my current average, I will be about 225 coins shy of making the 15K stretch goal.
My System "Code":
When I publish, I place the time, the number of coins I have before publishing, and the value. In the example case, I submitted at 1:15 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. My coin count was 11,989, and the value of it was $17.98.
The second line, as noted, indicates that it was 3 hours since my last article. I was up (+) 68 coins and 10 cents since my last article, increasing my average coin average since the last submission from 99 coins per day to an average of 103 per day.
By keeping track of it in this manner, I stay on top of my goal, knowing what I need to do, and where I need to up my game. This was important to me, after seeing my numbers from yesterday to this morning:
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
1000 PDT 11,921 17.88
+34/$.05 24hr; From 109 to 99 avg
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
I was only up by 34 coins and 5 cents in 24 hours, down from 109 to 99 coins average a day.
Final Thoughts
Clearly, this shows that the majority of coins will come from writing and commenting on others' work, rather than expecting that others flock to this site from elsewhere to delve into all I have to say.
I think my mother was right, when she said: "If only you could get paid a fraction of a cent for every word you speak, you would be a billionaire."

I think it's a nice little tag. I may kidnap the idea and use it myself.

Yes, it's a good way to keep track of your goals.

CoralLevang what a nifty idea.

I am very happy to see that you are making great progress on Persona Paper. Keep up the good work and I am sure you will cash out very, very soon!

What a neat way to keep up with it. I always write down my start coins/cash down when I first long on in the mornings and then again right before I shut down at night in a notebook. I do like this idea though. Keeping up with the number of posts is a good idea.

Thats cool. Whatever works for you. I don't bother keeping track of my coinage. I would just go to the bank page and glance at it. I see it moving up and that's all I need. But since you like to see the movement on a daily, that is a great idea you do.

Thanks. But we all have to do what we feel is right for us.

To each their own. As for me no goals, no challenges but just going back and forth looking at my bank and whether I like it or not something within me tells me to see if I can make it a round figure

I found it! I admire the system and your tenacity for sticking with it. I do understand it now and besides your sales experience I see some military influence, too. As long as it keeps you motivated, that's all that counts.

By nature, feisty56 , I am a wing it sort of person. If I don't put some sort of deadline or plan in place, that I can analyze, it will never work. Or should I say, I will never work. LOL

Your plan seems to be working quite well for you. You are meeting and exceeding your goals. I'm going to have to decide if setting goals would help me be more productive or not.
