I flew out this morning.
And arrived in Wales just after noon. I am here for an old school reunion.
It's 50 years (yes, 50 YEARS) since I sat my 'O' level exams, along with my school friends.
Those that are left
Now, some of those that are left (some have died) are meeting to take a guided tour round our old school and have a meal there.
Relatives
I am also taking the opportunity to see relatives who still live here and a new one, who is 2 years old.
School
The old school is still an educational establishment but an art college now, not a school. We will be having a meal there and a tour. It's hard writing on a tablet but it's all I have at present.
Don't admit to 50 years! Admire how good you look next to all the men that are now old farts that thought they were too cool back then. I went to my 40th in 2012. I looked damned good next to some of them, especially those who would not even say, "Hi" back in the day!
Going back to old school haunts can be disappointing. Pot bellies, bald heads, stringy moustaches and objectionable tattoos - and that's just the girls! Hope you have a good time.
I hope you enjoy your reunion and tour of your old school. My 40th High School reunion will be upon me in only a few years. Have fun with that 2 year old.
I know your excitement because I started those re-unions a long time ago. We still continue to meet. But going all the way sure tells a lot about your respect for the Alma Mater.
Thanks. I return tonight. I hope to post some photos from the visit after I get back, but more likely tomorrow. There is to be another reunion in 3 years time. Don't know how many of us will still be around for that.
I have only been to one high school reunion so far and to none of my college reunions, even though they occur every year (well, it's Homecoming, basically). Too far and too expensive for me currently. You did travel farther than I would have had to, though!

Enjoy your reunion, sounds like fun. Wish my school was having one.

I have the feeling that I may be one of the fittest there, which is a pity. Last time we met, some had difficulty climbing the stairs.

Thanks. I am staying with a cousin and catching up on family gossip.

I am happy to see that you are enjoying your reunion. I missed my high school 50th reunion because I was teaching at the time in Bangkok.

Sounds like something that I'd be very interested in doing although, I wouldn't wait 50 years to do it. LOL!

There have been a number of previous reunions though I did not go to the early ones.

That sounds like a good time will be had by all. I hope that the weather is good for your reunion.

Have a good time, if you're still there, and a safe flight home. I just got invited to our 55th reunion and I'm not going.
