Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Tuesday, July 07, 2015. The temperature is 65.1°F and the humidity is 84% at 5:14 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 mph with gusts of 3.1 mph. It was overcast when I when I stuck my head out. Again, no stars, no moon. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 80° (“cooler than yesterday”) today.
Mr. Siduri is going to work this morning. He doesn’t have to be there till 9. The place where he used to work has been having trouble with their computers for quite a while so they asked him to come in. They’ve agreed to pay him. Whether he sees any money or not is a different matter, and he’s aware of that. He thinks it will take him about five hours today. I didn’t say anything, but my guess is that he’ll be going back to work tomorrow as well. What will I do with myself?
I sat down yesterday with my glass of ice water, the back door, then open got up to get something and promptly dumped the water on the carpet. Needless to say, I was annoyed.
The book removal from upstairs to down in preparation for electrical work and (eventual) carpet-laying continues. How the hell did I ever manage to buy/accumulate so many books? And this is after I donated a several dozen to the library when I moved in here a couple of years ago. I’m still cataloguing and have managed to take one more pile to the library. I found my sister’s copy of The Light in the Attic complete with Hello Kitty stamps and sent that to her yesterday. I hope she gets a kick out of it.
And yet, looking through them all, I find fond memories of books read years ago. I found an old journalism text from college that described what a cursor is and how to use the arrow keys on the keyboard. I told Mr. Siduri it’s too bad we don’t have kids. Our grandkids might make some money with that book as an antique.
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things. Off to write another day—
1. Spend an hour with Siegfried.
2. Review Inanna Queen of Heaven and Earth either today or tomorrow.
4. Review “Author's Guide to Creating an Email Newsletter.”
