The 4th of July Weekend

As I enter into the last couple of days before I start back up at work after 10 days off, I find myself gearing up to take on the challenge of another group of people who have been thinking that the military way of life is the only way to think of doing things.

Sometimes, I grow weary in having only three days in a workshop to introduce new ideas to them. Too often, they take the passion for what I do as a personal affront to the "way things have always been done." That is one of the challenges of facilitating a mandatory workshop. They also have their own expectations of what it "should be."

For the rest of this weekend, I am going to concentrate on enjoying the time I have off to be around people who want and enjoy my company, and who "get me," in all of my uniqueness. These are the people who help to replenish my energy by giving back, since I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.

Today and tomorrow, I will celebrate my own independence and freedom, as I choose to relax without worry about what others will think, or the "what now?" that finds its way into my brain.

I wish all of you a wonderful, relaxing, safe and sane summer weekend as you--American or otherwise--celebrate your own freedom and independence from fear, worry, and whatever else ails you.

I well recall that horrible sinking feeling when we are preparing to go back to work, it´s a real downer for sure, but you seem to be managing to push it to one side. Good for you emoticon
