Moving Out Of Home

Being a parent has to be one of the hardest things in the world. You give birth then nurture them along the way. You spend sleepless nights while they are babies , then sleepless night when they become teenagers. When they are babies you can put things right with a feed, nappy change and a cuddle. With teenagers you put things right with a good feed, a cuddle and a few pounds.

You devote your time to making them happy and providing them with morals and life skills because one day they will want to branch out on their own. Your main thing is to love them and watch them turn into adults that will live a good life.

Then the day comes when they decide to leave the family home and you watch them fly away and start their own families. Hopefully they will succeed but be in the back ground to help them along the way supporting them when needed.

Our children will always be our children no matter how old they get and we will always strive to support them in all that they do.

It can be hard, but it can also be a relief, to know that you did well as a parent that your children are mature enough to move out into the world.

suzzy3 Oh my gosh you said it! My son is about to move out of town - an hour and a half away. I'm stricken!

Both of my children still live at home. I know that the day is coming when my oldest leaves to begin her own family.

I understand where you are coming from. It is really a tough part on the parents when kids grow and have to start their own lives.

It is even harder when your child , who you have given so much of your time to, ends up getting into alcohol, drugs and lands in jail.
