Cat Earrings Redux

One of the things I like to do is recreate and refurbish, jewelry from old pieces and put new life into them.

This cute cat earring is one of the redux from an old pair a friend gave to me that had a few light blue seed beads and the silver spacer hanging from it originally. I wish that I had thought of taking a "before" picture. It was a rather pitiful piece.

I chose to use the cat and the silver spacer from the original, but needed something to "marry" the two metals together, so I found the turquoise rondelle. I have always liked the pop of color of red coral with turquoise, and this seemed to work perfectly together.

It was a hit with the customer.

The earring is beautiful. I do love the way the red coral and turquoise work together. I have an admission to make. When I first saw your title I was intrigued and a bit concerned. I took it literally and thought I would be reading about earrings for cats. Silly me.
