Summer Begins

Today is the last day of school for my son and school opened the door to let out students at 11:00 AM. To my surprise, I saw many police cars patrolling the streets around the school to break up groups that were rowdy.

When I was young (you heard this coming, right?), there was no such thing! No police cars dispatched to keep peace for High School and Middle School at all. What happened to us?

When summer break begins, it should be a joyful and relaxing time! Not having police cars ready to sound off their siren! As I picked up my son, I fell as though I was driving through a war zone and I needed to get away from this area as soon as I can.

School is out and summer officially begins today! I need to re-organize my schedule to accommodate my son being home with me now.

Here they have a police cruiser at each school at the beginning and end of each day. I think it's just to keep an eye on things.

I was a bit nervous too, so I try my best to drive safely home..It is all different now, around my area!

On regular school days, we do have a police officer around too for both morning and afternoon to keep traffic moving, but today we have police cars all over the area..
