Rain - Writing Prompt

oneoveralpha has issued the writing prompt - Rain.

I have some random thoughts on rain.

On a vacation in Hawaii, I experienced rain that falls gently on a warm day. It was almost misty. We walked along an barely got wet. The rain sun came out and we were soon dry. We were comfortable regardless of whether it was raining or not.

On a vacation in Ontario, it was hot and humid. I was covered in perspiration within moment of bathing. We were walking; it clouded over and suddenly started to rain. We were soaked and yet not cooled off. The sun came out and it was hotter and more humid if that was possible.

In Alberta it can be hotish. The clouds start gathering and darkening and the way we know rain is eminent is the temperature drops - a lot. Then the wind whips up and it starts to rain. In Alberta, we don't have umbrellas. The wind just rips them inside out, or just rips them. If the rain stops it stays cold.

That warm rain in other places fascinated me.

I experience the Hawaiian rain years ago, and you're right it's so different from what I'm used to.

Having lived in Hawaii from 1979 to 1982, I remember the rain with fond memories.

I love rains in my city...they are heavy, lashing and last for days.

That is kind of what they are like here. I do like the exciting lightning storms, but it always has to be cold when it rains here.

Well, I never experienced Hawaiian rains, but yes, every year, I do experience rains with my wife and son, on our terrace. The feeling that we all are together gives me a divine feelings!

I like it when it rains in the spring or summer, but not so much in the colder weather.

I love a good downpour as long as it doesn't flood. I don't care for a cold rain.

Wow, Ontario weather sounds awful, at that time, at least. Rain usually cools things off, but I guess the warm front beat up the cold front and took its lunch money.

I hate rain. I hate the way it feels on my skin and how it leaves me smelly gross. I hate what it does to my hair when caught in the rain.

Ack! I am so behind on the writing prompts. ;( I'm glad that oneoveralpha does those. :) Personally, as far as rain goes, we here in California all want some !

I like the rain in the warm weather, like a summer storm. :)

I absolutely hate to get rained on. It is a pet peeve I guess you would say. The only time I don't mind getting wet is when I take a shower or go swimming. However when you were telling about it falling gently on a warm day, that sounded almost inviting. I've never heard of that kind of experience with rain. Thanks for sharing it. It truly gave me a different perspective on rain.

In Ireland, gentle rain is often called "Irish mist"! It rains a lot here.
