How to do Oil Pulling...

Put a half tablespoon in your mouth on an empty stomach. Swish the oil around for about 20 minutes and then dispel of it into the trash. Do not forget to brush teeth and do a mouth rinse once finished. Your toothbrush can get oily so clean it daily with hydrogen peroxide rinse. Oil pulling can be practiced three times daily.

I decided to do an experiment to see if oil pulling works so I oil pulled for two weeks. I first tried extra virgin olive oil which did not taste very well, although it worked beautifully. I switched over to organic coconut oil and preferred it over the olive oil. Coconut oil contains monolaurin which is an ingredient that helps strengthen the immune system. This is also found in mother's breast milk.

Coconut oil also has other benefits such as fat loss and increased brain function.

I did oil pulling with coconut oil for a month. Worked well, tho I never could get past doing it for about 10 minutes as the oil tended to trigger off my gag reflex. Luckily I usually did this while taking my shower, so the mess was confined to the bathtub emoticon :tongue: I now make a toothpaste of coconut oil and baking soda and use that several times a week in place of regular toothpaste and it works well.
