Vineyard Farm Day Trip

This morning I decided it was time to get out from behind my computer and take a day trip to a local vineyard/farm. The Niagara escarpment has a nice climate for growing grapes so we have the vineyard trail along the bottom of the escarpment and a long series of vineyards to visit.
Today I went to Puddicombe's, a vineyard and fruit farm that also has a unique little train ride through part of the property for those who want to take a closer look at the vineyards. Puddicombe's started way back in 1797 as a cattle ranch, but today they grow mostly grapes, peaches, cherries.
Their wine brands have won over 25 awards at national and international competitions. They even have a blueberry wine!
One animal I wasn't expecting to see today was a peacock! I'll do a separate post on these guys as they are just so gorgeous! A very nice getaway for several hours.

Sounds peaceful. Are you able to sample some of the wines also?

A peacock? what is it doing in the winery? I hope it does not drink itself silly.

Wine made from fruits have yet to replace wine made from grapes although they could taste much better. I have tried my hand at making wine from cashew apple, cherries, passion fruit and mulberries.
Talking about the peacock I get them in ou garden often. Here is a post
