Colours of roses

Early culture used white roses as a symbol for true love, an association which would later come to be the hallmark of the red rose. Also known as the bridal rose, the white rose is a normal marriage ceremony flower. In this feel, white represents team spirit, advantage, and the pureness of a new love. White roses are also related to honor and reverence, which makes them a becoming memorial for a departed loved one. In the course of history, yellow has been closely associated with the sun, making these roses excellent for cheering persons up. Yellow roses ship a message of appreciation and platonic love with out the romantic subtext of different colours. The colour represents emotions of joy and delight.

This makes the bunch I received for my birthday (which included white roses) even more special. Any colour of rose is beautiful though.

I wish roses that we receive had the fragrance that they used to. It seems that the only ones that do nowadays are in private gardens.
Beautiful picture.

I love receiving roses or flowers in general. I love white roses.
