Journal 06-12-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day is for you. Today is Friday, June 12, 2015. The temperature is 64.6°F and the humidity is 86% at 4:54 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 mph with gusts of 2.2 mph. It was overcast and dry where I stuck my head out. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 76° (“cooler than yesterday”) today.
The fairy tale went over pretty well at the critique group last night. A couple of further tweaks and I think I will submit it to the contest. The cookies went over pretty well, too.
Mr. Siduri got the scent of skunk along the side of the house yesterday morning hours after I did. Our guess (and it is only that) is that because the neighbors water their lawn in the pre-dawn hours, they may have gotten a furry visitor looking for water. Something must have startled him.
Going to work on painting the trim in the kitchen today. Mr. Siduri has everything taped off.
And I posted a review for Examiner on Tertullian’s “Apology.” Can’t say it’s exactly brought down the house with page views.
I have a correspondent I “met” through a beta-reading goodreads group, a high school girl that I’ve been exchanging emails with on and off for about a year and a half. She’s always got something on the burner. She actually contacted an agent last year for a book she wrote (and I beta read). She didn’t end up getting represented, but apparently got some good feedback. Good for her! I think she’s about 14 now. A lot more on the ball than when I was 14.
Off to write another day—
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.
Writing schedule:
1. Spend an hour with Siegfried
2. Start another review for Examiner.
3. Put the finishing touches on “The Song of the Harp.”

Yes! And she seems to know how to do it all. It's second nature. Good for her. She'll succeed in whatever she does.
