Journal 06-11-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day is for you. Today is Thursday, June 11, 2015. The temperature is 63.1°F and the humidity is 44% at 4:37 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 mph with gusts of 3.1 mph. It’s overcast and there was a lot dew on the ground where I stuck my head out. This is unusual. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 78° (“cooler than yesterday”) today.
The fairy tale is presentable. It’s ready to go to the critique group tonight. We’ll see what happens. The deadline for the contest I intend to send this to is July 15th, so I’ve got a little bit of time.
I found a yummy sounding recipe for cookies that uses buttermilk and just a whole lot of sugar. There’s also a recipe for icing. But I thought rather than experiment, I’ll just fall back on some no-bake cookies. And I can’t find a recipe. Off to google. How did we ever live before the internet?
A friend of Mr. Siduri’s is coming down today. Mr. Siduri is giving him a 3-D film camera for his daughter.
Just got the unmistakable smell of skunk coming in the backdoor. It’s lingering, as skunk smell does. That’s not good. I don’t hear any of the neighbors’ dogs barking and I don’t hear Gremlin meowing. Haven’t heard him at all this morning. We’ve got our backyard pretty well blocked off. Wonder where it came from. It’s not light enough to see and I’m not going to go out to look.
Mr. Siduri painted the ceiling in the kitchen yesterday. It looks so much better. And unlike what the front of the paint can promised us, it took two coats. He ran out of paint just as he was finishing. He couldn’t have cut it any closer.
Off to write another day—
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.
Writing schedule:
1. Spend an hour with Siegfried
2. Finish review for Examiner.

I had hoped to do a review for Examiner, but it seems like today the site will have to survive without my valuable contributions.

As Scarlett O'Hara once said, tomorrow is another day. I finally got one up today, but it took me working on it three days!

I do hope the skunk has moved on. I never trust the paint cans and always figure 2 coats

Thankfully, I rarely ever have to devote that much time to a review, but our writing goals/activities are so vastly different that it's not even fair to make a comparison.

The skunk may have been a road fatality, or there was an altercation some distance away--the scent carries quite far. It must be a relief to be so far ahead on the fairy tale. Great going!
