Not My Average Day, if There is Such a Thing

My plan today was to sort some books and box up as many as possible to get them out of the house and to Goodwill. I also packed some for the Boys and Girls Club and am waiting to see if they got my list I emailed them for approval before I deliver. I don't want to give them things they can't use.

Just as I was getting a good start, my hubby called to say he was stranded on the highway and needed a ride home after the tow truck came. So I went to his rescue and used the waiting time to take some pictures to put in my blog tonight. That blog will about the time I finish this post. All the photos in it are different than the one I've posted above of my hubby with the tow truck driver. I think you'll have to admit that if you're going to be stranded for a few minutes, there are worse places it could happen.

After I took Kosta home, I boxed up some more books to bring over here and get ready to give away. By the time I returned here, I was starved. I quickly threw together my chicken/broccoli/cucumber salad with almonds and watched some TV while I ate. After that I got back to the serious business of filling the rest of the three boxes. When I got ready to print the list for Goodwill to sign and attach to the receipt, the printer kept saying there wasn't any paper. I couldn't convince it, so I'll have to call my printer service man and ask him what to do. I've tried loading it five times.

After I gave up on the printer I wrote my city daily photo blog and came over here to see what you all have been up to. After my blog goes live, I have to schedule my tweets to publicize it. Maybe I'll even get to bed sometime. I hope to find time to add to my web site tomorrow. Have to feed it something fresh several times a week to keep Google happy.

I have been watching you. You are a busybody from head to toe and that for you is your average day emoticon

BarbRad Well getting stuck on a highway is always somewhat stressful. You are one very busy lady, really. Like nonstop. Nice!!! Well after today I would hope you chill for a day.

I wish you had separated busy and body. I admit to being busy, but I generally mind my own business, so I don't think I'm a busybody. Here in America, a busybody is one who is always butting into everyone else's business, and I really try never to do that.

Summer doesn't mean much to me as a change of pace. It's just hotter. It's very warm here this week.

BarbRad wrote on June 11, 2015, 3:33 PM

Not a chance, unless you mean I get to turn on the air conditioning when it heats up this afternoon.

Sounds like you got a lot done. That was a pretty area to be stranded in.

BarbRad Yes, sitting in the A/C is the way to go.

OK busy and body are two different words I know you mind your own business emoticon

I hope that the goodwill loves your book donation. Books are my daughter and my favorite finds at rummage sales etc.

I agree, is there such a thing as an "average day"? Glad you were there to help your husband. Back when we had only one car, my husband had to call his friends or brother to help him.

Nce photo, and glad to see you are still active here, which I have not been, not here or any other PTW site...just not enough time. People must think that I croaked, rflol.

I was going to say the same thing about bestwriter 's depiction of "busybody"! Funny how we see life and words differently from other parts of the country.
You certainly do have a lot of energy, barbRad . I admire you greatly.

There certainly are worse areas - like rush hour freeway traffic. Of course we don't have much of that here.

BarbRad wrote on June 14, 2015, 5:33 AM

I could stock an entire store with what I need to get rid of. None of our local thrift stores will run out of books very soon.

BarbRad wrote on June 15, 2015, 1:43 AM

I will be very glad when we get rid of this car once and for all. Now we just have one more car that doesn't work for him to decide to part with. I don't even know if that one can be fixed once and for all. It's an old Volvo.

I have wondered and almost emailed you a couple of times. I'm actually more worried about your friend than you. Feel free to email me an update. Are you in the Bay Area or the desert now?

BarbRad wrote on June 15, 2015, 1:46 AM

I really don't feel like I have a lot of energy some days -- especially when it's hot. It's so easy to want to just get lost in a book.

Yes, that's a lovely place to be stranded, but he's still lucky to be able to call you and get rescued! Breaking down somewhere in the days before cell phones was just awful. Hope you get your printer back online soon!

BarbRad wrote on June 28, 2015, 3:53 PM

Ali, it's already on line. I still should take it to have it cleaned, but it's working.

cheri wrote on June 30, 2015, 5:48 AM

That I considered busy already. It seems that you have all the energy to do a lot of things in a day

BarbRad wrote on July 2, 2015, 5:07 AM

I'm recovering my energy. It's just spread in too many directions.
