Journal 6-10-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day is for you. Today is Wednesday, June 10, 2015. The temperature is 66.4°F and the humidity is 84% at 6:08 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0.7 mph with gusts of 3.8 mph. It’s cloudy and muggy. Got up too late to see stars. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 78° (“much cooler than yesterday”) today.

I was surprised at how much rain there was yesterday, almost all of it while we were driving. Mr. Siduri’s mom’s trip to the dentist went well enough. She had a tooth pulled. The dentists said it was just sitting there. She said she really wasn’t in any pain, but kept cotton on it and held and ice pack on her cheek to keep the swelling down. We brought her some ibuprofen in case there’s pain later.

It’s was hot and muggy, more like southeast weather than southwest. We got out painting clothes on then decided not to paint. It was too sticky. We did some cleaning, though. Pulled up the threshold on the door between the kitchen and the garage, tried to clean the carpet remnant that’s served as a welcome mat (and foot wipe) for many years. It was decided that it’s hopeless and has been retired. The poor cat spent much of the afternoon ducking the hose. It has a spray handle, but it’s temperamental and doesn’t shut when you release the handle. I was so tired that at one point I told Mr. Siduri to beware of the “nose hozzle.”

So. I have to tweak the fairy tale today. The critique group is tomorrow.
