Changes Soon to Go in Effect

You all might remember us mentioning that we will be making some changes as to members who are inactive and those who have 0 posts outside of an introduction. You can find a bit more information HERE .

Next week, we will send out an email to all members noting what will be going into effect. We will be doing these in steps and not doing it all at once. For starters, this will give others a chance to come back, and it will prevent us from being overwhelmed dealing with multiple things at once.

After the email is sent out, you'll likely see all members that have Incoherent English be deleted from the system if they haven't already, as well as deleting articles with any outstanding user issue that is 14 days or older that has been seen but not fixed. After that, we will start deleting any member who has not posted anything outside of the mandatory introduction and has an account older than 90 days old - this will include any user who has deleted all of their posts as well and has been inactive for 90 days or more. We will also be implementing the coins taken away for so many days of being inactive that was also previously mentioned. We'll likely do this one week at a time.

Hopefully, we will have all of this taken care of by the end of the month. This will help us and our members to have a better understanding of how many active users we actually have.

That said, elitecodex has his mother coming in today from up North and my daughters have dance rehearsal and dance recital all weekend as well. If you send an email and do not get a reply by Monday, please be aware that we may not have any computer time this weekend to handle any requests or questions posed.

Thank you!

WOW! Serious business. Oh well! It is spring and most people usually do spring cleaning. Hope the changes go smoothly and improve the functioning of this site.

As always, thanks for the update. I hope you enjoy the visits with family and the dance rehearsal/recital.

MaeLou Now this is good news. I like hearing about what is coming. This is the way to do it. I need to become more active here as I have been elsewhere. I am trying to write some posts and have them on hold on my computer.

Thanks for the update!

Does writing comments constitute as being active and thus prevent account deletion?

WordChazer wrote on June 5, 2015, 3:41 PM

You sound as busy as I am likely to be in the next few days. Good luck.

That makes sense as only those who are active will be in the members' list. Any bonus for the hyperactive emoticon

Seems like you are getting 'on top of things' I hope it leads to a more active membership by stirring up some of the 'sleepers' ?

Spring cleaning is starting for the site it seems. Hope you have a great weekend

Have a great weekend and thank you for the update!

One question: Does commenting count for activity?

Nice to hear about the changes. Even more, I enjoy hearing about your family time. It makes us remember you are human emoticon

I understand what you will do .I like personapaper ,because there are so many brilliant posts here .Hope this site gets better and better !

SandraLPetersen wrote on June 6, 2015, 10:04 AM

I guess I'd better get busy and schedule some writing time. I've been doing almost everything else BUT writing for money. Tourist season has officially begun and that means more hours and more rooms to clean at the hotel. When I get home in the afternoon, I am tired! But I'll try to keep an active member status going. These are changes for the betterment of the site and I think all of us want that. Thanks for the update.

Thank you for the update. I really forward to the blogging category as that is my favorite type of writing. I also love to write book reviews.

shaggin83 wrote on June 6, 2015, 6:41 PM

Sounds good. I try to be active on here at least once a week. I am more active in the summer because I have more things I do to post about.

Debbie wrote on June 7, 2015, 7:33 PM

Thanks for the info. Good to see you're still keeping everyone up to date and informed.

Ty for this post. I re-read it again after I had logged in the other day. However the email I received clearly states that accounts will be removed after 28 days not, 90. Can you clarify and confirm this please?

AdGoggleKo wrote on June 12, 2015, 11:15 PM

Thanks! Just received the said email. Glad posting daily is not required. LOL! I hope we could insert embedded videos here. I learned from the other site that most people love watching my videos than reading. :)

MaeLou wrote on June 13, 2015, 9:00 AM

We're not removing accounts, we are just deducting coins from inactive users. You become "inactive" after 28 days, but coins are not deducted until 62 days after you are inactive - so, a total of 90 days since your last login.

iimouto wrote on June 15, 2015, 9:52 AM

I just got the e-mail from PP and I have a question. By "logging in", does that mean we have to actually go to the log-in page and log in? I don't ever log out of my Persona Paper account because I only use the site when I'm on my personal computer. So should I just log out and log in to keep my active status?

Shellyann36 wrote on July 5, 2015, 12:42 AM

I am so glad you sent out emails! I was one of those sleepers but I am back now and so happy to be here.

I'm fairly new to this website so naturally I'm still judging the effectiveness of the administration here. Communication, organizational structure, planning and development, management, professional, internal and external infrastructure are all key components which fosters good functionality and operation for any operation. There are pro's and cons to every facet of life. No administration will ever be perfect, although, I've discerned that there may be a few of these core competencies lacking here. I won't name them specifically because I trust that each writer as well as each staff member are well aware of which areas they need growth and development in. With this treatise then, I encourage and challenge each of you to challenge and grow yourselves in those areas and raise the bar to a standard of true writing nobility.
