The front patch is weeded - now for the blog

As it's a national holiday here (the Late May Bank Holiday) I headed out immediately I crawled out of bed mid-morning to tame the jungle wilderness in the front patch. Most of it was grass, which meant that pulling it up was easier than getting the dandelions out. I also had a small sapling which had taken root, which has now been chopped back, one thistle, some brambles and ivy to remove.

My husband came out to put it all in the waste bin, ready for collection later this week, and then I swept the path and steps before coming back in again. In all, I think about an hour's work. Next weekend we'll have another go at the back garden.

Now I'm preparing to take a look at the and fiddle with my listings all afternoon. Our friend DJ H0ffman is hosting his usual fortnightly show on NSB Radio this evening, so we'll be listening in as usual and having a good old chinwag in the chatroom.

But until then, it's time to pay attention to the blog.

Wow! it is like you have started your day right and cool. Are they the one in the photos... never saw a dandelion yet. I think blogging is the very cool job -- the whole day! Kidding, I think any kind of job is cool as long as you really love it. God bless.

I ought to have taken a 'before' and 'after' shot I think! I loathe gardening, but it has to be done so I drag my husband out to help me. And yes, I've found a photo of a dandelion. The blog is a long overdue project and one which will take A LONG TIME to complete.

I'm not sure where you are, but it's interesting that today is a holiday for you as well as for us in the U. S. I wonder how many national holidays in different countries just happen to fall on the same day.

I'm in the UK, where it is currently 7.30pm and I'm hard at work on reconstituting my blog. Hope to go live this week.

I leave the taming of our garden to our gardener and his helper - my wife!

Sounds like you have taken good advantge of a day off! We have also had a long holiday weekend here, but unfortunately, I have been terribly sick and haven't managed much.

We can only afford to call a gardener when it gets really evil. Last year's audit was 3 months later so messed royally with my summer weekends. This year it was earlier so we have much of summer to keep the garden under control at the weekends and the audit paperwork herded into a neat pile during the week.

Ugh, no way to spend a long weekend! Hope you feel better soon.
