Baby-san is back

After two whole weeks without baby-san, I now have my purple lappie back again. This is the keyboard shown in my profile pic, upon which I have written much of the output of the last two years' expoloits.

Sure, there's a fair amount of resetting to do - to download and to tweak, but the one is back on the job.

I need to set the zoom properly so I can read wth I'm typing, reload my desktop, start tabs and all the rest. I would like to put a shortcut to Google Drive on here, as I have on the other machine, but one thing at a time, really.

He's scratched as all hell where my husband has taken him to bits to install the new hard drive, but is running quieter and cooler than he has in a LONG time.

So, first things first to check in with you guys, then , then sort some bits out for my colleague's horse. She's calling by tomorrow on the way home from her parents' and will pick up our surplus cardboard on her way past.

I had hoped to get some gardening done (only the front patch) but that depends on the weather - it's currently raining and my devotion to gardening (ahem) does not extend to getting wet doing something that is already rather painful for me.

Good to be back on baby-san again - no more smashing the space bar! Writing is easier and quicker and, through eBay listings, I may end up earning the money I need to pay someone to replace the keyboard on the other one.

At first, based on your title, I thought it was a real baby then after reading your article, I smiled it is a laptop.

Yup. A 15" laptop that was supposed to be my travelling machine but then became my regular one after the keyboard started to go on the big black Machiney. Also, this one has a battery that works whereas Machiney's battery is dead and no longer charges.

Still getting there. Need to make a few more tweaks but for now it's working just fine.

I'm knocking on wood as I type this. I have had smooth sailing for quite a few months on mine. Hope it lasts. Good luck on yours as well.

I received copies of my back credit card statements today. I bought baby-san on 25 June 2013. There are so many good points about this machine (not least the backlit keyboard and the battery life) that I hope I get many more years out of him yet. The two things I would change are the weird fact that there is no light to indicate when the caps lock is on and the fact that the touch pad is ropy as all get out for some reason.
