Journal 05-21-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day is for you. Today is Thursday May 21, 2015. The temperature is 60.3°F and the humidity is 75% at 6:07 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0.7 with gusts of 3.1 mph. It was overcast when I stuck my head out and getting lighter. No stars whatsoever. Weather Underground is predicting a 20% chance of precipitation and a high of 67° today.
So. Dentist going-to day. First of three crowns today. Oh, joy. I had one crown put on at another dentist some 15 years ago. The best part about the trip was having the tooth ground down. It was not fun. Losing the tooth itself was painless, if quite the surprise. Then there was two weeks of having to chew all my food on one side of my mouth. I ate a lot of Jell-O and things like oatmeal. I had better insurance then, too. A $0 copayment. When this is all said and done, this and the cleanings will cost me about $2400. Mr. Siduri will pay half of it, which makes it easier, but I’ll have an expensive mouth.
And my “Dark Shadows” on eBay is holding steady. That’s OK. If it sells for no more than the price it’s going for now, I’ll be ahead of the game, I figure.
Dusting off a short story I wrote last year. The big thing I see wrong with it is that it’s too long. It’s about 9000 words. I want to shop it about around again. I’ll bring it to the critique group after I bring the revised Siegfried chapter 1&2 .
The more I write of Siegfried, well, the longer it gets. I’m worried that I’ll have to send so much of it to the depths.
Can’t focus….
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.
Writing schedule:
1. First, spend an hour with Siegfried
2. Goal of eight Examiner reviews before June 2. Four down, four to go. Write one more today.

*adds &AbbyG 's furniture to the list* I can't make any promises to get to it in this incarnation, but dusting your furniture is on the list.

Hi &siduri it is so good to see another author here. You mentioned you had one of your stories published? Is that the Dark Shadows on ebay? I published my first short story last June on Smashwords, but I prefer to write novels. The drawback with novels are they are harder to edit, so unless I can get some help, the two novels I have written are on the back burner until I find an agent.

Hi Carmelanirel Congrats on the short story on smashwords. I had some poetry and a short story published in small press periodicals a while ago. More recently, I self-published a short story. I'm working on a novel (in eternal progress) and have a couple of short stories in the works. The "Dark Shadows" I mentioned are DVDs I put up on eBay for sale.
1You mention editing the novels (heh, tell me about it... ) have you looking into editing services? I know they want blood for their services, but it may be a way to get your novels off he back burner.

msiduri whoa! I didn't realize your name wasn't typed correctly, I am sure it was right when I posted. Yes, the first thing I did was check into editing services about 10 years ago and they wanted over $1,000.00 for my first novel, I don't have that kind of money.
