Journal 05-16-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day is for you. Today is Saturday May 16, 2015. The temperature is 53.6°F and the humidity is 84% at 5:21 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0 mph. It was mostly clear when I stuck my head out. The ground was damp but is hasn’t rained since yesterday. According to the news, the storms left about 0.5 inches of rain. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 69° today.

Mr. Siduri is painting the door in the front entryway. Or at least it’s sanding down and ready to go. Still have to work on getting some of the old wax off the tiles. It’s a matter of getting down on hands and knees with a stripper, abrasive pad and a putty knife. I tried to do the tiles around the baseboards so he could put those back on. Now I’ll do one row at a time as my knees permit. It just looks so pretty.

Looking over my schedule from yesterday, I see I didn’t finish it, but I got the hard things done. I spent an hour with Siegfried and I got an Examiner article finished and posted. I finished the beta reading project and sent it back to my friend.

In a desperate move to make a little money, I took my entire collection of “Dark Shadows” DVDs down to an eBay store to put them up for sale. I don’t know how much I’ll get for them, but I’ll never watch them again and now I’ll have free shelf space. If I only get $75 (I split the price with the store), that’s $75 I didn’t have before.

I found out recently that I need dental work that will total about $2000. I don’t have to get the work done all at once, thankfully, but I will have to pay as I go. This is after putting $1500 into my car. Happily, Mr. Siduri will split the dental bill with me so that makes it a little less painful, but it’s still painful and selling things like DVD collections I’ll never watch can’t hurt.

OK. ‘Nuff belly achin’. Time to get to work.

Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.

If anyone is interested, my nascent blog is here .

There is also a page with the first chapter of my novel in-never-ending-progress here .

Writing schedule:

1. First, spend an hour with Siegfried

2. Goal of eight Examiner reviews before June 2. One down, seven to go. Write one more today.

3. Read and review “How to Use Public Relations.”

4. Read and review a selection of classic Greek poetry

5. Add two entries to the blog.

It's a work in progress. But I'm enjoying the progress more than the work. Thanks. Hope your day is nice as well.

So the housework is progressing . We all know when an unexpected expense cones, many such expenses start coming one after the other.

Yes! But things have gone pretty smoothly. And the front entryway looks quite new. It's very nice.

msiduri Sounds like things are coming along!
My current dental bill is a belly acher too! Hope my car hangs in for a while...

seren3 *crossing my fingers for you* Hope your car hangs in for a while and things go smoothly with the dental bill. Know how much that hurts.

Good luck selling the DVDs! Dental work isn't cheap or fun, but it's a good idea not to put it off. My husband's had an expensive mouth. Mine hasn't been too bad--I think I inherited my dad's strong choppers.

Thanks. At this point, I figure if they sell at all, I'm ahead of the game. I won't complain about anything. Except maybe pain. First appointment is Thurs. a.m. Wish me luck.
