Journal 05-15-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day is Friday May 15, 2015. The temperature is 54.8°F and the humidity is 93% at 3:48 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0 mph. It was overcast when I stuck my head out. The ground was wet, but it had stopped raining. It rained quite a bit (relatively speaking) yesterday. Weather Underground is showing a total of 0.3 inches. We heard a little bit of distant thunder, but saw no lightning. Poor little Gremlin barely got out of the enclosure all day. Weather Underground is predicting a 90% chance of precipitation and a high of 66° today.
The front entryway is almost done. The inside of the door has to be cleaned and painted. We have to buy new curtains and continue to apply stripper to remove old wax from the floor, but it already looks so nice. Mr. Siduri also replaced the light bulb with 100 watt equivalent so it’s brighter. He repainted and replaced the baseboards yesterday. The next project is the adjacent dining area. Granted, it’s all a work in progress, but the new light blue paint in the entryway just made a world of difference.
The critique group went well last night. Helpful suggestions all. And the banana bread I made was well received. It turned out not too shabby, if I do say do myself. The bananas weren’t quite as soft as I would have liked, but it worked out. No one complained. One person even said she didn’t like banana bread, but she liked this.
So. Back to the grind. I’m behind. That’s OK. I’ll do my best to make up for lost… something. And use the early morning hours specifically for Siegfried.
Wow. Sirens. I thought it was a joke when I moved to California and was told that people here didn’t know how to drive in the rain, but the minute it starts raining, you hear sirens. And they don’t stop.
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.

So do I. Not a little ambitious, is it?

Enjoyed the start of your fantasy novel. I would have commented but I don't have any accounts in the ones available for commenting.

My workday, for lack of a better term, was a washout. The most I could manage to do, writing-wise, was to create four Persona Paper posts. No reviews...not even a rough draft.
Sometimes you get the bear, but sometimes the bear gets you. Metaphorically speaking, that is.

I hear you, brother. And it's not for lack of trying. But I've been banging away at Siegfried. I've got the story. There's a book in there somewhere, really. As far as I'm concerned, the day isn't done. Have to feed the fur ball, then get back to my beta reading project....
