Hey guys

I thought I would share a quote about dogs!

"Dogs do speak, but only to those who know how to listen."

Orhan Pamuk

Yep I really agree with this quote. I think Sandy, the dog I grew up with, knew i was deaf. If I was alone at home and she needed to go out, she would come to my room and get me! So, I would listen to her and go let her out! She also would beg at dinner so Mom and Dad would listen to her and give her some scraps! She especially loved spaghetti, I think!

Bear, one of the dogs we have now, will let me know he wants more affection when I stop loving on him! Of course I will keep loving on him! Bear will also beg if he sees my dad eating! and yep Dad still listens!

Dogs, especially ones that are taken care of and treated well by their humans, seem to be particularly in tuned to them. And the ones we grew up with always stay with us.

Our last dog, Honey Bear, used to "talk" -- sometimes we'd talk to him and he would "answer" with this funny "Barrr-arrr-arr" noise. ;)

I am able to understand most of what all of mine want. They just look at me and I usually know. Of course Duke will be a little time yet as we just got him. But it doesnt take long

Oh, yeah, dogs talk. :) My last dog Honey Bear (who we mostly just called "Bear") would "talk" too. He would do this string of low, soft "barks" and when we answered him, "Oh, really? Tell me all about it." or something, he would "answer": "Bow ow wow wowww...."

Exactly--we need to take care of our animals! I hate it when I hear about animal cruelty! Sandy, the dog I grew up with is still in my heart and buried on our property!

oh my gosh yes! That is why there are service dogs-especially for people with epilepsy! Dogs can sense a change in the body minutes before the seizure comes on and can alert the person!

They may not be able to speak but our animals friends sure know how to get the message across!
