I’m Sorry I Haven’t Been Around

I'm well aware that I haven't posted since either Friday or Saturday, I cannot even remember.

Sunday I went to a family cookout for my oldest brother's daughter (my niece), as she just turned 15 years old. When I got home, I just kind of hung around and then watched WWE Extreme Rules. I went to bed right after the PPV because I had writing and babysitting to do.

It's weird, I cannot remember if I babysat on Monday or not, as it was a very long day. I didn't get any writing or blogging done. I'm sure most of you have heard about the Baltimore Riots? Yeahhhh, I live in Baltimore City. So we were pretty glued to the television from like...3pm until 1:30am-ish? I don't know, it was a while. I did watch my wrestling that night in another room, to take a break from the news...but found myself switching back and forth from Raw to the news. Commercial breaks and certain matches; the news went back on, not to mention I was keeping up with the Baltimore-related hashtags on social media. When Raw was on, I could barely focus on it. It was a pretty tense and at times, scary and frustrating, day. :-/

If you want to peacefully protest, then do it. I can understand why some people are upset. But rioting, looting, setting fires and destroying property; hurting others in some way, shape or form is NOT okay. I will NEVER agree that it is okay. They got the Walgreens up the street from our house. You know what that means? They were dangerously close to us. Let that one sink in a bit, because that's scary. There are pepole without jobs and even homes now because of this. Peacefully protesting is fine, but I'll never support actually rioting. :(

Sooo, the police and National Guard troops are out on the streets, then there is a citywide curfew until next week; from 10pm-5am. There are exceptions such as medical emergencies and going to/from work. Otherwise, you better take your butt in the house at 10pm.

Yeahhh, it's crazy and I wish things could get back to normal, but I don't expect that to happen right now. And then I see people in other states supporting it; even saw a tweet stating to "burn Baltimore down!" --- Really??? It's so easy to say that when you're not anywhere near it, eh? I had to start blocking people so I don't come across those type of tweets/comments anymore. :-/

Otherwise, I only got a few assignments done yesterday, and I came close to my daily quota today. I hope tomorrow and Friday, I'll be able to hit my quota. I already accepted on Monday that I wouldn't hit my weekly quota, and that a lot of us paused our lives on Monday to keep up with what was going on.

Things were calmer here on Tuesday and today. I hope they stay that way, but I know they can change at any moment. :( If you live in Baltimore, or if you're near any protests going on in any other states, please be safe. We're okay right now, but I think everyone is a little on edge.

I'm going to wrap this up because I'm getting tired. I don't want to be up super late tonight. You all have a good night and I'll try to update again soon. Take care.

Stay safe out there. I remember back when the L.A. riots happened, being a little nervous. Luckily it never got that close to where I lived.

I hope things have settled down in Baltimore.

I don't think you need to apologise for having a life, lol. I've been away too, just posted today in about a month but I've been busy with my garden. It's spring time in the UK and that means lots of lovely gardening tasks to be done. Glad to see you back.

ViperGirl85 I agree that they are taking that whole protest thing way too far. I totally understand that they want answers, real answers. I would want them too. But to burn things down and break store windows is ludicrous. I do believe that the police need to be held responsible for their actions. And it does seem that black people are being abused these days all over the country. My girlfriend was watching fox news, yes, I know, they lie, but I hate that channel. Anyway they are now saying that Freddie Grey caused his own death. Really? No way that could happen. They will stop at nothing to protect the police. Again, fox news has lied. They take everything out of context. But I see your point and for some idiot to say burn down Baltimore is ridiculous. Stay safe until this blows over.

I hope things get resolved soon, before things get worse. It's not the sort of situation you want to be in.

SoundNFury iwrite28 peachpurple and Colibry21 - Thank you all so much! We're definitely staying safe. Luckily, the rest of the week was more calm.

Debbie - LOL, I know, I think it's just a habit since some of us talk on here lol. I'll try to be on more, but between other tasks and stuff, sometimes I have to skip a few days.

inertia4 - This is a few days old, so I'll let you know now: the State Attorney announced that Freddie Gray was arrested without probable cause, therefore his arrest was illegal and his death has been ruled a homicide. The cops have been arrested and will face charged. As for the protesters, the actual protesters have been peaceful, and that's fine. I separate them from the rioters. The rioters are the jerks who tore up our city, caused chaos and made everything 10x worse than it already was. I'll never excuse or agree with looting, burning down buildings (where people work/live) and cutting a fireman's hose as he is putting out a fire (so glad that jerk has been caught and charged).

ViperGirl85 I heard that on the news about it being a homicide. I was glad to hear that. I do agree that rioting is not the way to go, never is. It just makes matters worse. It's like proving you're right and then becoming wrong.
