Book for Young Adults

I was in a yesterday and saw an amazing collection of 7 books like ones. The series was about the adventures of Septimus Heap who, as a seventh son of a seventh son, has extraordinary magical powers.

The story seemed a bit like Harry Potter too with wizards, witches, and evil forces. I was wondering if anyone has read the series and what is their opinion regarding them.

My daughter and son are avid readers and i am always looking for new for them but i also have to be careful they do not read anything that is not age appropriate.

I do not consider books like Twilight Saga good for young children. They loved Harry Potter books and have also read Percy Jackson .

Does anyone know anything about Septimus Heap fantasy novels, written by English author Angie Sage and is it worth buying a set of seven novels by her?

Somebody also told me about "The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel" which is a series of six fantasy novels written by Irish author Michael Scott. Buying a single book is okay but i cannot buy a series of 6-7 books unless someone recommends it.

Do you know of any other books that are fun to read without explicit scenes and too much romance?

I went into Amazon and looked up the books and checked out the reviews. Reviews are mostly very good for Septimus Heap. Nicholas Flamel book has good reviews too.

Most young adult books are about vampires and witches or romance or a combination. There are so many series. How about Gossip Girl?
