These Are My Rules

These are my rules. Imposed on myself only. Nobody else has to follow them. If you're wondering how it is that the “Like” rectangle at the top of your post gets converted into a blue check mark which means it received a “Thumbs Up” from the visitor or reader … this is how a writer earns a mark from me.
If your title caught my eye and got me to come over and look at your post, you get an automatic thumbs up! This I do before even reading the post. Don't care if I haven't read the post yet. You got me to your page with the title! You made an effort to pen a title that got the reader's attention and got them to your post. You get a thumbs up for that in my book. Then I read the post, leave comments, tweet or whatever.
It's not the way of my people. It's just my way . ♥

Actually I haven't been paying attention to the "like" function. I wonder how much it matters to other PP writers.

I leave likes a lot also. I want them to know it was good

At Bubblews it's a gold star. At HUBPages they call it quality control. Etc., etc. The button is at the top of the post. The PP site owners put it there for a reason. No matter what their reasoning is, generally speaking, a Thumbs Up at any site is a good thing!

This is a fun site and plus .. who doesn't appreciate a little encouragement?

You used to get coins for "likes" but they stopped that and I stopped noticing

me too, if title and content is good, I give a like

A very 'biblical' post I must say :) I agree with you, if the Title is catchy enough (like this one) to bring me onto the Post I will give it a 'Like' :)

Didn't know that. No matter.

peachpurple , &AbbyG , agvulpes – I can't read minds but I knew people had a different rationale, reasoning and distinctive criteria on how, when, where, and why to “Like” or give a Thumbs Up to any content. I was just curious. My curiosity has been satisfied. :)

cmoneyspinner I always like whatever post I read and comment on. It only makes sense to me. If I didn't like it why would I bother, right?

It is a way for me to keep track of what I have read and not read, though I have been lax in using that method lately.
