Man cremated by mistake?

In a recent news report in Yahoo news, a family was shocked to see a different person inside their father's casket. This is, to me, very disturbing. Besides the grief that the family is going through with the passing of a loved one, they shouldn't have to go through this ordeal. It would be shocking to me too if ever that happened to our family. Add to that they were told by the mortuary who handled the remains that he was cremated by mistake when they investigated the mix up.

No amount of refunds would ever pay back the damage that has been done. The deceased has even specified in his will that he be buried and not be turned to ashes and put in an urn.

What would you have done if this happened to you and your family?

Perhaps file a lawsuit against the mortuary? I'm not really sure.

Yes, it is quite shocking to know it happened. A mistake that cannot be reversed.

That's exactly what the family did allen0187 . They filed a case against those who were responsible for their father getting cremated.

There is not a lot that can be done. You can't get pigs back by reversing the sausage machine!

I did and am glad it wasn't in my own country. Good grief.

Wow! I can imagine the grieving family had to be upset. I know I would be. There is definitely no way to right the wrong. I bet a lawsuit came against the mortuary.

Things like that should never happen. I wouldn't know what to do if that happened to anyone in my family.
