Despite what the media says, unemployment has not improved at all, it still sucks. Personally I have been unemployed for five years now, despite having applied and interviewed at several places. The issue i am running into is that, people seem to think jobs are falling out of the sky and they are not, also as far as people wanting more money on minimum wage jobs, it is not because they are lazy or greedy, it is because they are trying to make a living. Anyone besides me notice how prices have steadily gone up while wages for most of population has not?? Not to mention that education these days is just a straight up joke, because the good teachers who make learning fun and enjoyable are being pushed out with rules and regulations leaving some of the worst teachers ever, left. Does no one but me see a recipe for disaster here?? You see I have relatives that tell me constantly that I need to get a job, well, uh, duh, I know that. Thing is they have not tried to get a job lately, so they have no idea what I am up against and that jobs are not as easy to come by these days as they once were. For those of you reading this thinking: go to school, learn a trade or start a business, let me stop you right there. What do both of those things require?? MONEY, that's right and for someone that has been out of work as long as I have, what makes you think I have that lying around. As for scholarships and what not, jokes. Not at all helpful really. More trouble that they are worth. I speak from experience here people. Also the corporate ladder analogy is dead as a door nail, because, there is no such thing as a truly entry level job any more. You are expected to know everything about the job before you start your first day and job training is pretty much a joke too. For me it is so frustrating to have been out of work for so long I mean I can't even get a job at McDonald's because of all the competition . What I would love to do is to be able to house sit for people while they are vacation or in any other way away from their home. Thing with that is, you practically have to love animals because people will usually want you to watch them too. Not at all an animal fan so that's out, ugh. Everything else I have looked at or considered requires knowing a lot of people so as to network whatever you are selling or offering, a lot of money to begin with, a lot of experience and education in the field or just straight up who you know or are related to. For me, it's like playing the board game Monopoly, when all the properties are taken, have hotels on them and are so expensive to land on that going to jail is a good thing, expect in the game I am in there is no jail just no money.
